Sue
Writing Director
Graduating from UCLA with a BA in Sociology, Sue holds a Masters in Education from Wheaton Graduate School, as well as a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate. Her 22-year experience as an ESL educator includes being the Fuller Writing Center Director, ESL adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, and English department director at Central Christian Academy in Suwon, Korea.
Michelle
Curriculum Director
Michelle double majored in English and Japanese from UCSB and received an MDiv graduate degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. In addition to her TESOL certificate, Michelle trained as an interpreter and translator from the prestigious Monterey Institute of International Studies. For the last 20 years, Michelle has taught and created curriculum at La Canada Preparatory and Fuller Theological Seminary as an ESL adjunct faculty professor. She is an award-winning, published poet and translator of published books from Japanese to English.
Shana
ESL Director
Holding degrees in communications and journalism from Point Loma University as well as an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Azusa Pacific University, Shäna has enjoyed teaching English and writing over 25 years to students of all ages. She has taught in leading California school districts including San Marino, Temple City, and Pasadena. Shäna also taught specialized ESL courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs including Citrus Community College, Azusa Pacific University, Cal State Los Angeles, and Fuller Theological Seminary.
Sean
English Instructor
Sean graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Public Policy. He was an ESL teacher in Japan for the #1 nationwide private language school where he worked full-time teaching conversational English and grammar to a wide variety of students. He has gained a very rich and broad understanding of the challenges people face when learning English as a second language and the goals they wish to achieve. Sean has been a vital part of the Language Transit staff and teaches reading and public speaking to English Language Development students.
Susannah
English Instructor
A USC graduate with a BA in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Susannah is both CBEST certified and an AmeriCorps VISTA alum. Drawing from a creative background in songwriting and performance, Susannah teaches from a unique perspective, emphasizing individual confidence. Having worked with children in such settings as hospitals, schools, and after-school programs, Susannah is thrilled to join the team at Language Transit!
